This morning Stella woke up and expressed her lack of enthusiasm for this particular day of the week. So I engaged in our “plan” that we have used for the last few weeks.
Me: Why don’t you want it to be Monday sweetheart?
Stella: I won’t get to see you all day and I am going to miss you.
Me: I am going to miss you too. I wish I could just hold you all day.
Stella: Me too.
Me: What can we do tonight so that it’s extra special mommy/Stella time?
Stella: a pajama party (that is the usual answer)
So I share this story to demonstrate how easy it is to alter our reality. No, I could not change the day of the week, or the fact that we will both miss each other during the day. That said, we set up an expectation that allows us to be excited for something to come – a change in belief.
Therefore, even when the reality of the present moment shows up – I am missing mommy… she has the excitement of the pajama party to hold her up and change her reality.
Today this brings me to our experience of everyday wellness. What are your stories and how do they evolve into your experiences? Do you have a party when you need one? Party is the key word in Stella’s vocab. We have sit outside and watch the deer (parties) and so on.
So party it up. Have fun and celebrate. It is your life after all.
